SciFiMed Advances Towards the Final Phase with Exciting New Developments

dianapauly

SciFiMed is gradually approaching its final phase (extended until 30/06/25), and we have already achieved significant milestones! Through the project, new ELISA tests are now available on the market, allowing for the quantification of the FHR protein family without the need for highly specialized instruments. But SciFiMed has even more to offer: functional assays are also in development, pushing research forward.

Ferdinand Holzhausen from the University of Regensburg provided insights into these advancements during the opening session of the 19th European Meeting on Complement in Human Diseases (EMCHD2024) in Lübeck. In an engaging Science Slam, he demonstrated how SciFiMed is driving innovation. Science Slam blends science with entertainment, making research accessible to a broader audience.

Check out the fantastic performance by Ferdinand Holzhausen (Antje Baeumner’s research group), presented by the Early-Career Complementologists (ECCO), here!
