Mihály Józsi is professor and head of the Department of Immunology. His research focuses on the complement system, particularly the function and regulation of the alternative complement pathway, the structure and function of factor H and factor H-related proteins. He has identified novel ligands and functions of the factor H family proteins and characterized various disease-associated mutants and anti-factor H autoantibodies.

Short CV

He graduated in Biology and obtained his PhD in 2002 from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Józsi was  a research fellow, later a junior research group leader at Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and infection Biology (Jena, Germany). Between 2012 and 2017 he was leading a research group supported by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.  Since 2017 he is a staff member at the Department of Immunology (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary). Prof. Józsi combines teaching in immunology and research methodology with basic research in the field of innate immunity.
