Elena Goicoechea de Jorge is Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Department of Immunology at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain. The main research line in her laboratory focuses the understanding of the biological role of the factor H protein family and how these proteins are involved in the pathogenesis of renal diseases.

She graduated in Biochemistry, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Elena Goicoechea de Jorge obtained her PhD in Technical Biochemistry from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Dr. de Jorge was appointed as a research scientist assistant at Imperial College (London, UK). In 2015 she settled as an independent researcher in the Department of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine (University Complutense of Madrid, Madrid, Spain), where she combines her research activity with teaching.
